Action Medical Research — 08/06/09
MEERKATworks have successfully completed The PLOD, an event that takes place in Sussex to raise money for Action Medical Research.
The Plod was a 40 mile walk that started at midnight and followed the South Downs Way over to Eastbourne. Members of the team included our Reps from Magic FM, News International, Daily Record and the world of outdoor.
The team walked 44 miles and climbed a total of 4,487 ft which is slightly higher than Ben Nevis!
We spent about 21% of the total time at check points enjoying Muir and Shona's wonderful mix of snacks and drinks and we all burned an average of 3,500 calories so all in all, a healthy weekend out in Sussex!! (Heidi got the team lost for approx. 1 hour and 3 miles too far north !)
Just in case you are wondering, we arrived at end of our PLOD 15 hours and 10 minutes after we set off.
