Latest Magazine ABC Report— 17/02/12

The latest Magazine ABCs show a fairly less disastrous reading than expected, at first glance with a couple of the sectors on the report actually posting period on period (POP) increases.

Much of this POP increase is due to many of the titles switching from 6 monthly to annual reporting meaning they were not in the last periods ABCs making an inaccurate impression of a POP increase.

In fact, the YOY figures show that all sectors are down considerably with the exception of Youth Press which had only a 2.8% decline, suggesting that successful launches will still be prominent.

Across all the titles reported, an average of 1.4 million fewer copies sold each month than across the same period the previous year, where there was a 7.6% decline.
