Quality Market Topped by The Times— 15/08/11

According to the latest round of ABCs figures, the only daily quality title to report a month-on-month increase in circulation in August was The Times, reporting its third-highest circulation of the year.

The Times reported a circulation of 449,938, up 1.98% on July, and since June has added an extra 10,000 to its headline circulation. Whereas rival quality titles such as The Independent and The Daily Telegraph all reported decreases in circulation.

The independent increased its headline circulation figures of 180,470 by distributing 75,289 free copies in August. The Times does not give away copies, neither do The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph.
