HOW WE MET

In the beginning there was only one MEERKAT, and in January 2007 that solo MEERKAT, Heidi, read that Star Wars Celebration Europe was coming to London for the first time.

 

Heidi already had a couple of shows under her belt and threw herself into the pitch in the IMIE offices in London. Melissa was one of those that she pitched to and it was Melissa who called Heidi on the train later that month to tell her she had beaten 3 West End agencies and won the business.

CAMPAIGN OBJECTIVES

To plan, negotiate and buy an advertising campaign, with original radio production, that would ensure all 35,000 tickets were sold over the 3 day event held in July 2007.

HOW WE DID IT

MEERKAT bought a combination of print, outdoor advertising and radio promotions to market the event. All radio ads were written and produced in conjunction with Dan Hunt and SFX were sourced direct from Lucas Films.

 

Print included front page strips in London Lite, London’s first free afternoon paper, and The Evening Standard.

HOW THE CONVERSATION CONTINUED

Melissa has held a number of senior marketing positions in different companies over the last 11 years. A highly experienced events marketing specialist, she has consistently used MEERKAT as her media buyers across a wide variety of events including the National Pet Show, Dog Fest, AVEX, FOODEX and the Buddhist and Ancestral Remembrance Ceremony.
